LAHORE: Former cricketer Aqib Javed has been appointed head coach of Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) franchise “Lahore Qalandars
8221; for the upcoming season.
Speaking to media after being appointed, former pacer said it was an h
onour to be the head coach of the franchise.
Aqib, who replaced Paddy Upton, said that he had learnt from Paddy’s experience in last two editions of PSL, adding he would try his best to lead “Lahore Qalandars
8221; to the victory stand.
“Lahore Qalandars
8221; finished at the bottom in the first two seasons of PSL under paddy’s coaching.
Moreover, opening batsman Fakhar Zaman has been promoted as the vice captain of the team.
“I am happy to be appointed as vice captain of Lahore Qalandars, said Fakhar, adding: “working with Brendon McCullum [team’s captain] will help me grow as a player.”
